The Sacraments
 708.352.1275 Emanchurch@yahoo.com
The Rev. Terri Stanford

All baptized Christians are welcome to receive Holy Eucharist (Communion). You do not need to be a member of Emmanuel or an Episcopalian or even of a certain age in order to receive the Eucharist. Simply come forward when the usher welcomes your row, and kneel (if you are able) at the rail. If you are not baptized, all persons are welcome to come to the alter rail to receive a blessing from the priest. Indicate that you wish to receive a blessing, instead of Communion, by crossing your arms in front of your chest.

Members of Emmanuel and non-members are welcomed to receive the sacrament of Holy Baptism at Emmanuel. Persons of any age, from infant to adult, may be baptized. Baptism is administered on designated Sundays during the 10:00 a.m. service of Holy Communion. Please call the parish office to inquire about the next baptism dates and classes.

Members of Emmanuel, as well as non-members, are welcomed to inquire about holding their wedding in our church or chapel. Holy Matrimony will be solemnized after instruction and pre-marital counseling by our Rector. It is recommended that six months notice be given. Please avoid the seasons of Advent and Lent as these are not appropriate times for marriage in our church. Please call the parish office to inquire about available dates and times, and for further information.

At Emmanuel, the sacrament of Confirmation is normally administered to youth around the age of 12 after a period of instruction, guidance, and learning; however parents may use their discretion to determine the point at which their child has attained the level of spiritual maturity required to take this important step. Persons seeking Confirmation must be baptized Christians. Adults of any age may receive confirmation. Please call the parish office to inquire.

Your prayer requests are welcome. If you would like Emmanuel's Prayer Group to pray for anyone you know, please fill out the forms that are located in the narthex and in the hallway of the church buillding. You may request prayers in any or all of the following listings: Prayers of the People printed in the Sunday Bulletin and Clarion, Prayers for healing read aloud at Wednesday services, and Daily Intercessions said
privately by the prayer group. Click here Prayer Request 3 and you will be brought to the Prayer Request Form. Click and save the form on your computer. You can then complete the form right on your computer - no need to print it out. It can then be e-mailed as an attachment to the church office at emanchurch@yahoo.com. Or print out the filled-in form and bring it in to the church office.

Please notify one of the clergy or phone the parish office to inform of a death in the family. Our parish clergy will meet with the family to arrange for the funeral. Arrangements can also be made for the interment of ashes in the Chapel of the Resurrection at Emmanuel Church.
