Music Ministry

Save the evening of May 10 (Mother’s Day) for the annual LTHS Madrigals Concert here at Emmanuel. The beautiful music starts at 7pm.

Emmanuel is blessed with a choir of parishioners who sing during almost all of the regular Sunday services at 10:00 AM from September though June, as well as all of the church’s holy days and additional services offered at Thanksgiving, Christmas (Midnight Mass) and Holy Week. In addition to their regular Sunday ministry, the choir also presents a traditional Episcopal Evensong of hymns, prayers and readings at least once a year. Contributions by parishioners fund additional musicians, such as violinists, brass and percussion performers, to enhance special feast days.
The choir normally rehearses before the 10:00 liturgy on Sunday and, in preparation for Christmas and Easter, other rehearsals are called as needed. The choir enthusiastically urges additional parishioners to offer their voices to God in this important ministry.

David Clark also leads the treble choir of our parish boys and girls, ranging in age from 9 to 12. These youngsters rehearse once a week after school and sing several times a year during our 10:00 liturgy. In addition, our treble choir participates in the annual Treblefest held at St. James Cathedral and led by our diocesan bishop. Treble choirs from all over the diocese and beyond come to the Treblefest where they are rehearsed and led by a choral director in a beautiful service of hymns and readings.
