Invitational Ministry and Pastoral Care work hand-in-hand to reach out to future and current members of Emmanuel Episcopal Church, as well as our church guests. We enjoy communicating our love and concern for all through verbal and written communications, or even through providing a helping hand where we can. We serve our parish and our brothers and sisters primarily by letting them know that our parish community cares for them.
Our ministry makes ourselves available to guests by reaching out to them, and helping them find their place at Emmanuel Episcopal Church. We work with our parishioners to make sure that everyone who wants a “voice” has a “voice” to connect with the parish community. We help facilitate care of those who are suffering from life’s challenges as well as celebrate with those who are experiencing life’s blessings.
Invitational Ministry and Pastoral Care are vitally important to Emmanuel Episcopal Church because no person is an island, and Christianity cannot be lived without a community. We believe that better communication and outreach through life’s ups and downs makes us stronger as a group and individually, and that it’s an important way to live The Great Commandment of “Love the Lord God with your whole heart. Love your neighbor as yourself.” In welcoming people to Emmanuel, we demonstrate that love and inclusion into our community. In taking care of people who need support, we put that love into action.
Parishioners assist the committee with making meals and providing other support as needed. We meet as needed, and are always looking for new ideas, or interested volunteers who want to connect with the parish community on a deeper level. We work closely with Outreach, Stewardship, Parish Life, and Communications.
