Emmanuel Episcopal Church in LaGrange is proudly celebrating our 54th Annual Antique Show February 25, 26, and 27, 2010. The very first Antique Show was organized and presented in 1956 by a Mrs. Passenger, who brought the idea for the show to the women‘s auxiliary. Since then, the show has grown from a simple Antique Show and Plant sale to a very well known and anticipated event throughout the Chicago land area and much of Illinois. Even the church itself is well worth the visit, thought to be one of the finest examples of French Gothic architecture in the Midwest. Today, the show proceeds benefit both local charities such as The Cathedral Shelter of Chicago and The Constance Morris House — a shelter for battered women and children — and programs and services within Emmanuel Episcopal Church.
This year, we will have our 3 floors filled with wonderful merchandise from over 30 magnificent dealers representing a large geographic area as well as a broad depth of fine goods. Antique jewelry, silver, textiles, vintage couture, books, crystal, glassware, porcelain, furniture, prints, pewter, and antique collectibles are just a few of the many items the dealers will be offering for show and sale. We are also having a Crystal Repair Person at the show. Customers can bring their chipped crystal and have it repaired while they shop the show!
2010 show hours are Thursday, February 25th, 5:30 pm – 9:00 pm; Friday, February 26th from 10:00 am – 9:00 pm and Saturday, February 27th from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm. The three day Admission is a $7.00 donation, proceeds benefiting various charities. Tickets are available at the door.
In addition to this spectacular Antique Show, there is a culinary feast throughout the show.
•The elegant Bistro on 25th February, Thursday evening, from 6p – 9p will feature hors d‘oeuvres and wine at a cost of $10.00 per person. Perfect for a bit of relaxation after shopping or even a date with special person.

•Baker’s Shelf featuring tasty treats to pick up and take home will run throughout the show.
•The Tea Room is always a delight and is open throughout the show. Fabulous cakes, created by artisans, are generously cut and offered for sale along with a cup of coffee or tea. It is a charming place where one can sit and enjoy posh hand baked delectables, sip a cup of tea, and consider their purchased treasures.
Emmanuel Episcopal Church is located at 203 South Kensington Avenue (at Elm) in the historic district of LaGrange, Illinois, about 20 miles from Chicago (Metro Train transportation available). The parish was formed in 1874 in what was then the geographic center of the La Grange community, pointing to the centrality of faith in this village. After a fire in 1924, the church was rebuilt in the Victorian concept of gothic in 1925. Emmanuel now features magnificent memorial windows, great ribbed pillars, a magnificent 63 rank Casavant organ, and a baptismal font with four stones from the Sea of Galilee and the Dead See. All are welcome.
